First short, written assignment: Due February 9, 2009
From the Syllabus (“Course Information”):
The first of these exercises will be the studentʼs choice of an editorial or an
autobiographical sketch.
“editorial”
(n) : an article in a publication giving the opinion of its editors on a given
topic or current event; a similar commentary on radio or television.
“autobiography”
(n) : a self-written biography; the story of one’s own life
The assignment should be one-page, one side only.
It must be word-processed via computer or typewriter
“typewriter”
(n.) An archaic instrument for writing by means of type, a type wheel, or the
like, in which the operator makes use of a sort of keyboard, in order to
obtain printed impressions of the characters upon paper.
No hand-written materials will be accepted.
This assignment is worth 12.5% of your final grade.
NOTE: Any student who has completed a similar assignment in another
class with this instructor must “choose” the option not taken previously;
e.g., if you chose autobiography previously, you must hand in an editorial
this time and visa versa.
